A classic step back in time! The classic shape of the RK's slightly flared shell and handsome metal rivets are complemented by the attachment of an original Riddell two bar facemask. The suspension webbing is identical to the original right down to the same brown thread that was used to stitch it together. Real leather jaw pads, gray toned strap and identical front style labeling makes this helmet indistinguishable from the original. These helmets also have the "KRA-LITE" and "RIDDell" trademarks branded into the rear of the helmet, unlike some other helmets you may find on the market these days which have neither. Also, due to the increasing demand for personalized helmets, which include special facemasks and numbers which were made famous or popular by certain players, we have included some of the more popular personalized RK helmets on this page which do not carry the "Kra-Lite" or "RIDDell" engravings found on the Riddell RK helmets. These RK helmets are manufactured by a different company to the same specifications as the Riddell RKs with the exception of the engraving on the rear of the helmets. Because these helmets are personalized, they have also become very desireable and collectible, as Riddell only manufactured the basic RK helmet with the 2-bar facemasks and did not manufacture personalized helmets with special facemasks.

Rare helmet manufactured by Riddell during their "RK" series production runs. This is the famous "gold" helmet used by the Steelers during their 1962 regular season games. Note the extra large decal, and the famous "Steel" instead of "Steelers" in the decal which came later that year when they swiched to the black helmet for the playoffs, not returning to a gold helmet until very recently when wearing their throwback uniforms. This is the first one of these we have had, and it has the "RIDDell" and "KRA-LITE" stamped into the rear of the helmet. Don't miss this one.

San Francisco 49ers 1954 Classic Y.A. Tittle RK Throwback Full Size Helmet with Acryllic Mask-SOLD

A great quarterback, Y.A. Tittle left everything on the field and never gave up. In his 15 year career, Tittle threw for over 28,000 yards with three different teams. Remembered most for his final four years with the New York Giants, when he led Big Blue to three title games.

But this is an authentic reproduction of the helmet he made famous. After suffering an injury that would have sidelined any other athlete, Y. A. wore this 49ers helmet in 1954, including the special "handle" attached to the cheek area to provide added protection. Was there ever anyone tougher than Y.A. Tittle? He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1971.

For your consideration is this Riddell �Classic� RT2 suspension football helmet, manufactured as a very short run by Riddell in 2007, and as the NFL Champion Cardinals would have worn in 1947. Riddell had just entered into the plastic helmet business in the late 1940s and the RT2, with its wrap around leather jaw pads and 32-hole ventilation on top, was making a name for itself. This helmet has been autographed by NFL Hall of Fame member, and Heisman Trophy winner, Charley Trippi, so you have a truly very rare collectible. This helmet was part of a very short run of prototype and specialty helmets manufactured by Riddell at the end of their Riddell Classic RK2 series as described below. Note the location of the Riddell stamping on the lower right rear of the helmet, as opposed to the font being changed and place on the lower left in the RK series. This is most likely a true one of a kind item.

For your consideration is this Riddell Classic RK2 Kra-Lite Pittsburgh Steelers football helmet, with the most widely used football helmet face mask on the planet, the vintage Riddell 2-bar BD-9 facemask. This gold shell version represents the last gold shell helmet regularly worn by the Steelers during 1962 before switching to the black shell for the 1962 playoffs and subsequently they stayed with the black version. This gold shell version of the famous Riddell Classic RK line was produced only for a short time compared to the black shell version, and is quite difficult to find.
